Supporting our customers

The latest Happiness Index shows that loneliness is increasing amongst younger people.

We have a wide customer base covering all ages, locations and circumstance and we’ve recently seen younger customers come to us to help tackle loneliness.

Through the work of the Aster Foundation we hope to help tackle issues like loneliness and mental health and help us be more than just a housing provider.

We encourage colleagues to participate in courses and training that would support our customers which Dorset based Bridget and Mandy have embraced.

They both recently completed their training to become Dementia Friends Champions for the Alzheimers Society and have already worked with a number of customers in our independent living schemes.

Dementia Friends is an initiative from the Alzheimer’s Society to change people’s perceptions of dementia and the way we think, act and talk about the condition which affects one in 14 people over the age of 65.

Champions are volunteers who encourage others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community.
