Covid-19 advice for Independent Living customers - Sheltered and Extra Care schemes

The latest Government legislation and guidance means that we will need to continue to do things differently for our Independent Living customers. This means that the changes you have recently seen implemented will need to remain in place for the foreseeable future until the government changes the current arrangements.COVID Advice
What is it?
Housing that offer up to 24 hour support to remain as independent as possible is often called extra care. Residents could live and benefit from an on-site, 24 hour care and support service which still aims to help them remain as independent as possible.
This could include help with personal hygiene (baths and showers etc.), assistance with getting dressed, support with preparing meals, help with housework and support with post and general budgeting.
An assessment would be carried out to identify any on-going 24 hour support as well as daily care needs. The local authority may pay or contribute depending on the level of need and other assessments. Alternatively, some residents can pay for their own service.ENQUIRE
