Sale of Sarsen Court

The way we work has changed over the years and like many businesses there is no longer the need for large corporate office space in the same way as there once was.

Focusing on flexibility, people, technology and sustainability our vision for the future is to reduce our office and carbon footprint, by making the best use of the technology available to us, adopting a virtual first approach where it’s right for our customers and our people.

Over the past seven years, as we’ve worked in a more flexible way, many of our offices have become increasingly underutilised. Sarsen Court in Devizes is one of those spaces. As a result, from March we’ll be marketing the building for sale, as well as looking at alternative use of the site, alongside exploring alternative options for workspaces in the region as part of our Right Spaces Right Places work - which is all about making sure we’ve got the best possible spaces available to do our best work, ensuring our customers receive the best service from us.

The sale of Sarsen Court is likely to take some time, and we anticipate that we will still be working from Sarsen Court for the next 12-18 months.

Although COVID-19 has accelerated the pace at which this change will take place, giving our colleagues greater choice over where they work, whether that’s an Aster managed space, from home or elsewhere has always been part of our ambitious transformation journey.

We’ll continue to provide a range of spaces to enable us to connect with our people, customers, communities and partners.

Having spaces available for our customers to be able to visit for pre-booked meetings remains a high priority and will be a key consideration for us when looking at workspace options available in the region.

Our desk-based employees will have the freedom to work from anywhere, including a range of smaller, leased, physical spaces across our operating area where our people can work more collaboratively together, and we can best serve our customers.

We would like to reassure you that we will continue to have a strong presence in the area.
