Recruitment, Training and Qualifications

We hire for values as much as for experience. Every Care role requires the Care Certificate, and Aster fully funds any training you might need. If you’re new to care, you’ll learn on the job while you:

  • Work toward completing the Care Certificate within your first six months

  • Access further qualifications and career-development programmes

  • Follow a clear progression path—many colleagues advance to Care Team Leader or Care Home Manager

Recruitment Requirements

To comply with legislation and keep everyone safe, we carry out pre-employment checks, including:

  • Right to Work verification

  • Two years of employment references (and explanations for any gaps)

  • A pre-employment health questionnaire

  • An enhanced DBS check (fully funded by Aster)

  • Reasonable adjustments for candidates with disabilities

Working Patterns

We offer flexibility to suit you:

  • Full-time, part-time or casual contracts

  • Day and night shifts (with extra allowance for unsocial hours)

  • Uniform provided at C&C

Supported Employment

Through our Supported Employment programme, we open doors for people who’ve faced barriers to work. Over a 12-month placement, you’ll receive one-to-one coaching to:

  • Build skills and confidence in real-world roles—café barista, gardening, office administration or warehouse support

  • Gain paid work experience

  • Achieve Maths and English qualifications

Many participants move into permanent roles after completing the programme.
