Money Advice Tool unlocks life-changing support for family

Did you know that we have a free to use Money Advice Tool that can help you budget and make sure you’re getting all the right support and benefits? 

One customer recently received a back payment of £17,000 after our lettings team used the tool and discovered he wasn’t getting the help his family were entitled to. 

The family were getting ready to move into a new Aster home and spoke to the lettings team.  

During that call they filled in the Money Advice Tool and discovered they had been missing out on the child disability element of Universal Credit for their son since 2022.  

After Heather from our lettings team encouraged them to contact the Department for Work and Pensions, the customer was awarded £495 per month going forward, plus an incredible £17,000 backdated payment. 

The customer shared: “We had no idea we were missing out. Thanks to Heather and the team at Aster, it’s made a substantial change in our lives. It’s a dream come true.” 

They plan to use the funds for essentials like flooring and new beds for their children.
