Aster appoints new director to bolster growth ambitions

Housing association Aster Group has appointed Jordan Lister as director of growth and strategic information to help accelerate the organisation’s growth strategy and maximise business development opportunities for the Group.

Jordan brings over 15 years of industry experience to the role, having previously provided strategic consultancy to some of the sector’s leading organisations. He joins from Phillip Callan Associates.

In his new position Jordan will support chief strategy officer Dawn Fowler-Stevens in overseeing the implementation of Aster’s growth strategy, through which the Group seeks to develop strong sector partnerships that supports its plans to continue expanding its portfolio of over 34,500 homes.

Since 2019, Aster has completed mergers with East Boro Housing Trust (EBHT) and London based care provider, Central and Cecil Housing Trust (C&C) as it seeks to deliver more housing and an enhanced service offering to its customers. Jordan’s role will see him look to further progress a range of strategic partnerships.

Dawn Fowler-Stevens said: “A primary focus and question for everyone in our industry should be, “how can we better invest?” That goes for investing in our existing homes and services and investing in the new opportunities that will further support our communities.

“When it comes to growth, we’re focused on additionality. The partnerships we form are not about numbers, they are driven by us striving to make a positive difference to our communities. Ultimately, we want to help as many people as we can to access affordable homes and unlocking the potential for further growth within the business allows us to do more of this.

“Jordan has a strong track record of delivering results for some of the sector’s biggest names, and we’re confident his appointment will strengthen our passionate team and enable us to deliver even more for our customers – existing and new.”

Jordan Lister added: “Aster is committed to doing more and doing it better and we believe that working in partnership with others supports that ambition. Our excellent governance and financial strength put us in a position to be adaptable and equipped to take forward a range of different opportunities for growth.

“With C&C joining at the start of this year, it’s an exciting time and I look forward to supporting the team to identify and deliver future success.”
