Replacement van helps keep charity food bank on wheels

We've donated a replacement van to local charity Unity, helping them continue delivering food and support to rural communities across Test Valley.

Holly Sheppard, Regional Operations Director, said: "We were delighted to be able to continue our support of Unity's mobile food pantry through the donation of a replacement van. This donation reinforces our commitment to supporting rural communities across Test Valley and our long-standing, successful partnership with Unity."

The new vehicle replaces the van we donated in 2023, which was transformed into a mobile food pantry and has helped hundreds of people access affordable food and essential support closer to home.

Terry Bishop, Chief Executive of Unity, said:

"We are incredibly grateful to Aster Group for this generous donation. The Pantry Van has become a lifeline for many local people, helping residents access affordable food and essential household items close to where they live.

This replacement vehicle will allow us to continue supporting communities in King's Somborne, Stockbridge and Lockerley for years to come. I would also like to thank Tracy and our volunteers, whose commitment, kindness and hard work are at the heart of the service's success."

Unity's mobile pantry service helps bridge that gap by bringing essential items directly to local towns and villages.
