Hosepipe ban announced
Due to one of the driest springs in over a century and record temperatures in June, Thames Water recently introduced a hosepipe ban which started on 22 July in certain areas.
What you need to know
The ban applies to Thames Water customers in the following postcode areas:
OX, GL, SN, RG4 (excluding RG40–42 & RG45), RG8 and RG9
The hosepipe ban is being introduced to protect local rivers, maintain water supply, and support long-term drought planning. Local reservoirs, including Farmoor, are seeing lower levels, and some underground sources are running low.
