Supporting customers during Dementia Action Week 2026
This Dementia Action Week, we’re recognising the importance of supporting customers living with dementia, as well as the family members, friends and carers who support them every day.
We know that living with dementia can bring many challenges - not just for the person diagnosed, but for the people around them too. That’s why we’re committed to helping customers access the right support, advice and services when they need them.
As part of this, we’ve developed a new Dementia Care at Home – Support & Signposting Guide, designed to help customers caring for someone with dementia in their own home. The guide brings together information about assessments, support organisations, helplines and local services available to customers and carers.
The guide includes information on:
- How to request a Care Needs Assessment
- Support available for unpaid carers through a Carer’s Assessment
- National organisations such as Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia UK and Age UK
- Dementia support helplines and local services
- Additional support such as respite care and memory cafés
We understand that asking for support can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when caring responsibilities increase over time. Dementia Action Week is an important reminder that nobody should feel they have to manage alone.
We’re continuing to work to make our services more supportive, inclusive and accessible for customers with additional needs, while helping connect people to specialist organisations and advice that can make a real difference.
If you or someone you know could benefit from dementia support, you can find more information through organisations including the Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia UK and Age UK.
