“Our home is a lot warmer and with no drafts” – energy upgrades create more warm homes
You’ve told us that it’s important to you that your homes are more energy-efficient, which can help to reduce energy bills, leading to more affordable warmth and comfort.
We’re investing more than ever in your homes, and our ambition is that all homes have an energy performance certificate (EPC) of C or above by the government target of 2030 and net zero by 2050.
We also upgraded over 100 homes through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, helping to lower energy bills, cut carbon emissions, and support our goal of making all homes net zero by 2050.
Customer F is one of 150 customers who benefitted from the investment in homes via Social Housing Decarbonisation Funding. We fitted his home with solar panels on the roof, installed new windows, installed new loft insulation, the cavity walls were updated, and extractor fans were fitted.
He said: “When I was first approached about the upgrade of work that was to be carried out to my home, I was a bit hesitant and reluctant to have this work done, but after having a chat with the team we agreed that several improvements could be made.
“I was amazed that all this work was carried out within a couple of weeks and the disruption was minimum.
“As a result of the work that has been carried out, our home is a lot warmer and with no drafts. The ventilation has also been greatly enhanced and has made a big difference.
“Most importantly we have seen a great reduction to our electric bills which is very comforting. Thank you for convincing me to have this upgrade to my home.”
