There are three strands to our People pledge: our colleagues, our suppliers and our customers.
Our colleagues are key to our success and we are committed to creating a culture which supports us providing a great place to work. We will do this through: flexible working; supporting our colleagues’ wellbeing; providing access to a range of benefits; offering paid time off work to volunteer; match funding fundraising activities and offering apprenticeships and paid internships for talented people.
We know by working with our supply chain we will achieve greater results. We will do this by developing strong relationships based on honesty and integrity; providing training to our smaller partners to help them compete for work in line with our procurement policy and improving our payment terms and invoicing processes.
Outside of our core business, we have identified a number of other areas where can have an impact with our customers. These are firmly aligned to our strategy and include helping those who need it to access technology to make transactions and communicate with us and other service providers. We’ll also offer welfare and benefit advice and a hardship fund, to support customers affected by welfare reform or exceptional circumstances. In addition, every year we will offer our customers – or their children – 20 work experience and 20 volunteering places either directly at Aster, or through our work with our supply chain partners.
Digital engagement with our customers
At 71 years old, Sam Plummer is a confident customer when it comes to getting in contact with Aster online. He finds this way of communicating not only easy, but fast and convenient, and he is eager to reassure those with doubts.
