Studied level 2 carpentry and joinery

I am 21 years old, started with Aster November 2024 and lives in Devizes.  
 
I started my journey with Aster when I was let go from another building company, whist I was in the middle of my apprenticeship, studying with Wiltshire College & University Centre, which then meant I needed a new employer. I enquired with Aster and someone from the apprenticeship and early careers team contacted me. 
 
Aster’s support has saved me from losing my qualification as I was halfway through completing it when my previous employment came to an end. I am extremely grateful for Aster taking me on and couldn’t thank them enough. From the equipment supplied to me, to being able to work within a team where I have built my confidence up.  
 
My apprenticeship journey with Aster has been nothing but positive and I have always felt comfortable, relaxed and ready to learn.  
 
I have enjoyed working with a variety of people and learning new skills which I didn’t think I would be able to do. The skills I have learnt with Aster will be used throughout my whole career. I feel very happy and proud of myself that I managed to be qualified especially through the situation I had and can’t thank aster enough for helping me get across the finish line 
 
In the future I would like to expand my knowledge by perhaps learning another trade and work my way up within Aster.  
 
I would tell anyone who’s looking into an apprenticeship to make sure it’s something you want to do and then you will enjoy each day. Learning on the job has been the best way for me, which has allowed for my confidence and experience grow. I would 100% recommend it.
