What is a personal alarm?
A personal alarm is a device with an emergency button that connects to a monitoring centre. If you ever require emergency assistance, simply press the button and you’ll immediately be put through to a trained call handler who will ensure you get the right help.
With our Connected Living - At Home package, you'll receive an alarm base unit which can be installed in a room of your choice, plus a discreet pendant alarm which can be worn either as necklace or bracelet.

How our personal alarms work
The monitored home alarm is connected to your telephone landline at home. If you need help, simply press the button and you'll be automatically connected to our monitoring centre.
The alarm unit uses a tiny amount of electricity and it has an internal battery which it uses should there be a power failure.
Is a personal alarm right for me?
Knowing support is available at the press of a button, means you can enjoy independence and continue doing the things you love.
You may want to consider a personal alarm if:
- You have limited mobility
- You are elderly or vulnerable
- You have learning disabilities
- You have a health condition (e.g. Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, or diabetes)

Registration and installation
You have two options for registering and connecting your equipment.
Aster Connect - £60*
If you live in Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset or Dorset a Trusted Assessor trained technician will install your equipment at a convenient time for you. There is a one-off £60.00 payment which covers the installation and registration to our service.
If you live outside of these areas, please select You Connect postal service.

You Connect - £30*
We will post your equipment to you with clear instructions explaining how to safely install your equipment yourself. There is a one-off £30.00 payment which covers registration to our service.

Frequently asked questions
You’ll qualify if you have a disability or a long term illness.
You will need to have a working phone line (or our GSM Solution) and an electricity supply near by.
We can supply a GSM solution which will work off a sim card, call and ask us about it.
Yes, the pendant alarm has a range of up to 50m and the technician will carry out thorough range testing at the demonstration. If you have a very large garden the technician will let you know if there are any areas that may not be covered.
Yes, you can. We have several alternative devices that can alert you by either flashing lights or by vibrating. These devices can be worn around the wrist, on your belt or can be put on your table/shelf or fixed to the wall.
If the monitoring centre can’t hear you, don’t worry, they will always call for help.
Yes, all of our technicians carry ID badges and are trusted assessor trained.
You don’t need to have contacts. In an emergency the call handler will call the emergency response service.
If you would like someone to install the alarm for you, a trained technician will do this at a convenient time for you. However, if you would prefer to do it yourself, we’ll post your equipment with clear instructions on how to install it.
Yes, you can have as many as you need. They are available from as little as £2 per month.
We’ll install urgent alarms within two working days and the rest in five working days.
