Here’s our top five picks for things to do in Farnham - check it out!

Birdworld – Farnham Road, Holt Pound, Farnham, GU10 4LD

This is such a lovely day out; the kids will love it! A must see if you love animals. Lots of events around the park to enjoy. You can watch the penguins being fed, hold giant cockroaches and see the goats in the petting farm. There’s ducks, owls, flamingos, kookaburras, parakeets and toucans - plus many more birds to see. If you search the internet too you can often find money off vouchers for reduced entry. The restaurants are sensibly priced and the staff super helpful too – add it to your places to visit list for sure!!

Alice Holt Forest – Bucks Horn Oak, Farnham, GU10 4LS

Fancy getting some fresh air, maybe take the pooches for a stroll too? Alice Holt Forest should be top of the agenda. Once you’ve paid for parking, the forest itself is free to visit and you have numerous trails to explore. There are shorter trails which are easier for the children with play areas along the way (there’s even the Zog Activity Trail, which is good fun too for the kids!) or longer trails if you want more of a leg stretch. Well worth a day out.

Farnham Castle – Castle Street, Farnham, GU9 0AG

Now, we didn’t realise Farnham had a castle – but this one is truly beautiful! The castle itself is mainly used as a wedding venue, but it’s open to the public too. It’s small but has plenty of its original structure to explore, and there’s information boards throughout that give you the history of the castle too. You make a donation for entry. Take a picnic with you – the grounds are stunning.

Farnham Park – Castle Street, Farnham, GU9 0AG

Just down the road from the castle, you’ll find Farnham Park. A great park for walking or going for a run – the park is dog friendly too. There’s a play area and obstacle course for the children to enjoy and plenty of picnic spots (who doesn’t love a picnic lunch?) The park is also close to the town centre if you fancy a stroll around the town – maybe a couple of minutes’ walk. There’s also lots of wooded areas with streams within the park and plenty of pathways to enjoy.

Museum of Farnham – 38 West Street, Farnham, GU9 7DX

This is a charming museum in the heart of Farnham full of local history. There are often children’s art activities for all age ranges going on during the day too which the kids love. Displays include archaeological artefacts to artworks from local artists and a fab costume collection! The museum itself has a lovely walled garden, which is so peaceful to take a quick stroll around and being enclosed its super safe for children to play in. A good all-weather place to visit.
