My Pickle – one stop support platform

No one should struggle alone and that’s the driving force for our inc. entrepreneur, Cat Divers.

According to a Census wide survey, commissioned by My Pickle CIC, more than one in five (22%) of Brits (11.8 million) find it difficult, stressful or time-consuming to find help. Two in five of those who responded (40%) have delayed or given up searching for help before because it was so hard to find the information, advice or support they need.

Leaving her insurance career, Cat began looking at the support options available to help those facing life’s biggest challenges. Around the same time, the rollout of Universal Credit was affecting many and left them struggling alone, often without support. Cat noticed online communities springing up, sharing advice and signposting information. Inspired, Cat set to work and www.mypickle.org, an online platform equipping people to find the right help at the right time was born.

My Pickle aims to provide trusted online resources and signposting to support a range of issues, including mental health and financial wellbeing. The website also features personal stories that people can identify with and be inspired by.

Cat has now been named as one of the Top 25 of Trailblazing Newcomers in the NatWest SE100 list and was recently featured in the Daily Mirror. Now she’s a member of the inc. class of 20/21 and part of our ongoing work to support mental wellness and financial wellbeing in our communities.

Now living in Glasgow, Cat is conscious of the increasing need for platforms like MyPickle to support those who may be struggling through the pandemic.

“This year has been difficult for so many and included a lot of personal upheaval for me. inc. offers a rock of support, from regular one-to-one advice from the team and mentors to a structured programme of expert sessions on a range of business topics. I am so grateful to the Aster Foundation for making this support available. As a solo social enterprise founder this support really is invaluable and has come at such a crucial time for me and My Pickle.”
