Mental wellness and resilience
According to Mind, approximately 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem in the UK each year.
MHFA England report that 91 million working days are lost every year with stress, anxiety and depression the biggest cause of sickness absence in our society.
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. At Aster, good mental health, wellbeing and resilience are priorities in work and across our communities and we look forward to working with you to improve your understanding of how you can improve yours.
We have a range of courses from Mental Health First Aider, Mental Health Champion, Mental Health Refresher and Mental Health for Line Managers. We also offer courses around mindfulness and stress awareness. Simply choose a course that’s right for you and contact us. If you are not sure which course is appropriate for your organisation, we can help with that too. Or we can tailor a course to your needs.
“Most of my experience of the issues is through mental illness in my family. Thank-you for helping me.”
“Interesting course content very well presented. I teach a child carer - the content of this course will help me understand her and her attitude and hopefully I can help her more in the future.”
“Thank you. I really enjoyed the course and your lovely, humorous and engaging presentation. I would recommend this for everyone who works with people of all ages and wishes to improve their level of understanding, empathy and social skills. I feel a little more knowledgeable and better informed.”
“I just want to thank you and the Aster Foundation so much for the mental health training you are delivering at St James Church in Devizes the recipients of your training have hugely benefited by the training that they have received. I am particularly glad that so many of our volunteer team leaders, those running children, youth and small groups, have attended. Your training has given them the tools and confidence they previously have felt they lacked.”
