Support for independent living and extra care customers
During these unprecedented times, our independent living team has changed the way they work to support our customers living in extra care and housing for older people schemes.
They continue to carry out health and safety checks in line with the government’s guidance on social distancing and are keeping in touch with customers over the phone or email. At this time all other non-essential activities such as face to face visits have been put on hold.
Over the past two weeks the team has made over 3,000 phone calls checking in on some of our most vulnerable customers and providing support, should they need it.
Our communal areas, which now includes our guest rooms, are now closed. We ask customers in our independent living schemes to request all non-essential visitors not to visit the scheme until further guidance is issued.
To help our independent living officers carry out their essential duties please stay at least two metres away from others while moving around the building. We understand that this is an uncertain time for you and your family, however we have taken these actions to limit the spread of the virus.
