Essential workers receive hand cream donation in recognition of care and compassion at extra care schemes
Front line colleagues at local housing association, Aster Group, have been gifted hand creams as a thank you for their work and the work of partner care providers, caring for vulnerable people in extra care schemes across the community.
Triple Point Investment Management delivered over 350 hand creams to 14 of Aster’s Extra care schemes, to ease the discomfort caused by the regular washing and scrubbing of their hands to follow strict hygiene guidance.
Carers, cleaners, and independent living officers continue to visit schemes to provide essential services for older vulnerable people, with many being the only visitor and friendly face some residents see each day.
Jean Dalziel, housing director at Aster said: “We are so thankful to Triple Point for sending something special and much needed over to the essential workers in our extra care schemes.
“We recently had a family member get in touch to praise the compassion and caring nature of the team in her Mum’s extra care scheme. She called them superheroes in her eyes, and I agree with her wholeheartedly.
“We want to make sure everyone remains safe at this time and our teams are working tirelessly with our partners to ensure that people feel connected and cared for.”
Colleagues across Aster are joining forces to ensure people in sheltered housing continue to receive the support they need at this challenging time.
Over 9,800 welfare calls have been made so far to check that people have the food, supplies and medication that they need while isolating. Our volunteer led befriending programme Aster Connect has also seen over 50 colleagues matched with vulnerable customers to have regular weekly calls to talk to a new friend over the phone.Back to latest news listings
